Margaritaville DM1000 Margarita Machine review

A few days ago one of my friends took me to a place where we had an extremely tasteful drink. I never tasted anything like it, so I had to know what it was. Because my friend ordered the drink I asked him what it was. He looked strangely at me and asked: ”You never drank margarita before?” I think you can guess my answer (I was never a cocktail person, more of a simple drink kind of guy).  So, after that drink of course I wanted more, but I cannot go everyday to a pub or restaurant to drink margarita. So I researched how to make it, and I even asked a few bartenders for recopies and hints. Every one of them said that the best way to make a margarita is by using a margarita machine.

So what is margarita

Margarita is a cocktail made of tequila mixed with triple sec, usually served with a slice of lemon or lime and salt or sugar on the glass rim. Margaritas come in a variety of ratios, colors and flavors. Margaritas can also be prepared with blended fruits like lime, lemon, strawberries, watermelon, orange, mango, cherries or blueberries, for a different flavor. For a good consistency these ingredients are best mixed with a margarita maker.

Also, glass has some benefits: it does not absorb the food odors like a plastic jar, it does not discolor, nor scratch. The downside of a glass jar is that it increases the weight of the machine, and it is also more prone to breakage if dropped.

It’s NOT just an Ordinary Blender

A couple of my friends said that the Margaritaville’s DM1000 Frozen Concoction Maker is just like an ordinary blender. Believe me, it is far more than just an ordinary blender. The machine shaves ice and blends up to 32 ounces of my favorite drink, all at the touch of a button. You can select how many drinks to make and the machine mixes the right proportion of ice with the ingredients. By the way, the unit actually shaves the ice, delivering a better drink consistency, so no more ice chunks in your drinks.

Also cleaning it up is very simple. If ice remains you can leave it to melt and drain into the reservoir to discard it or you can shave the remaining ice into the pitcher. You can clean up the pitcher and pitcher parts by putting them into the dishwasher.

A few things why I like the margarita maker

The best part of this margarita machine, in my opinion, is that you can also make other, non-alcoholic drinks, like pina coladas. The manufacturer produces great consistent margaritas just like you would find in a pub or restaurant so there is no point buying milk (margarita) when you can have the cow, that is the concoction maker. Another great thing about this machine is that it comes with included recipes, so you don’t have to bother searching for a new recipe if you’re tired by the ‘same old’ margarita. It is very easy to operate, anyone can do it and still make a perfect drink. With this margarita machine you can make four pitches, more exactly 24 average glasses of margarita.
